Director of Development

Take the lead on Torn Out’s fundraising efforts! Torn Out has produced its first two seasons with the generous support of the New York arts community and early adopters of our company’s mission. In order to continue our current programming and expand into new areas of performance and community engagement, we are seeking a motivated individual to diversify and solidify our approach to fundraising.

Responsibilities include developing and maintaining donor relationships, researching and applying for grants, and investigating new sources of sustainable funding for Torn Out’s productions and infrastructure. Ideal candidates will have experience with grant writing and familiarity with the financial side of the non-profit arts world.

Event Coordinator

Help Torn Out to expand beyond its traditional theatrical productions! In addition to performing radical and challenging work in New York City parks, we are experimenting with the development of ancillary events like readings, fundraisers, and one-off theatrical happenings. To help us make these a reality, we are seeking creative and enthusiastic individuals to take the lead on coordinating and organizing the logistics of these events.

Responsibilities include communicating and negotiating with vendors, scouting venues, and assembling personnel for Torn Out events. The job will also include creative brainstorming with the Torn Out artistic staff on the best ways to tie in events with our company’s theatrical and social mission. Ideal candidates are personable, skilled at efficient and prompt correspondence, and have a passion for live events.
